Joe Lowrey - Samaritan Running Captain

Legendary, in the world of running and coaching, “Coach” Joe Vigil has inspired many runners with his endearing philosophies. Coach Vigil conveyed, “Whether it’s a sport team, classroom, church, work, family, a group of friends, whatever be challenged and become an impact person in their lives.” Additionally, Coach shared, “Compassion encompasses the idea that once you reach your destination you give back.” I believe these principles will serve Samaritan Running well. I’ve been granted the opportunity to “give back” in the form of captaining and advancing the cause of our newly formed Samaritan Running team.

I am very proud of the group of friends/runners we have assembled in support of the Samaritan Running team. Their passion and experience will ensure a rewarding fundraising experience and deliver a memorable running journey. Please join us! I know our group won’t take individuals or moments for granted everyone is important to us. We are a community of individuals that love to run, and our finish line is providing those experiencing homelessness with food, clothing, shelter, and an opportunity to get back on their feet.

Samaritan Running members will receive:

  • A personal fundraising website
  • Access to for invitations to training runs, running events, and more
  • Frequent training and racing tips
  • Access to an interactive Samaritan Running website
  • A performance T-Shirt with the option to acquire an additional singlet
  • Perks at local running stores
  • Support and motivation from fellow members

Our ask/goal is for team members to raise, a very achievable, $500 minimum in support of the homeless anytime during the 2021 calendar year. Fundraising donations will support:

  • 48 beds for the Veteran program
  • 126 beds for individuals
  • 25 families
  • Sheltering for 400+ individuals nightly (emergency and transitional)
  • More than 225 women on an emergency basis

I encourage you to participate in or sponsor our inaugural Samaritan Running team in 2021. This is your chance to “give back”. Every Coloradan Deserves a Home!

God Bless,

Joe Lowrey
