My friend Jessica O'Connor inspires me to be a part of a the Samaritan walking/running team. As a team we raise both awareness of the homelessness crisis and much needed funds for the Samaritan House shelters in Colorado. 

Walking and running events are one way we spread awareness but we also gather throughout the year with our families and friends to support those in need through acts of service. Even our kids are involved-helping pack items, writing kind notes of encouragement or placing sweet stickers on packaging like my 4 year old does. Everyone has gifts to share. 

Please join us, we have a really great time all while making a difference in the lives of others who are just trying to make it through the day.

As I try to instill in my kids themes of social teaching being involved in this aligns with all 7 themes.
