Team Samaritan House 2019
Team Samaritan House
For the ninth consecutive year, Team Samaritan House will bike in The Denver Post Ride the Rockies tour to help fund Catholic Charities’ services to those experiencing homelessness. Ride the Rockies is Colorado’s premier cycling event, which this year covers 476 miles from June 9 – 15.
Team Samaritan House was created by captain Tom Schwein and his cycling partner, co-captain Tom Dea, to help raise awareness of the need to fight homelessness. Each year, the team has grown in riders and passion. This year, 100 volunteer riders are anticipated to raise funds for Catholic Charities’ shelters. All riders are faithful to the cause and commit to fundraise a minimum of $1,500 each. Over the past eight years, Team Samaritan House has raised more than $500,000 to provide shelter, meals and other necessities so that individuals and families experiencing homelessness can have a fresh start.
Team Samaritan House is a collaborative partner with The Denver Post Community Foundation, providing phenomenal support and charitable opportunities through Ride the Rockies.
We cannot thank Team Samaritan House enough for what they have done. Our mission is to provide the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to the poor and those in need. Team Samaritan House is with us every step of the way.
For the fiscal year ended June 30, 2018, Catholic Charities provided 212,082 nights of shelter in emergency and transitional housing to those in need. With your participation, we continue to provide hope and help in rebuilding the lives of those facing homelessness. Thank you for your support.
God Bless,
Tom Schwein
