ALL OF US HAVE A STORY...
MINE IS STILL A "WORK IN PROGRESS"
I’m not quite sure when I began thinking of myself as a “survivor” of breast cancer. Actually... it just came to me, that maybe, just maybe… it was at the very moment that I was diagnosed. All I can remember is being optimistic, knowing whatever was ahead on this life altering journey, was something I was going to face head-on with a positive, 'never give up' attitude, while forging my own path. My journey has been paved with faith, pain, laughter, complications, courage, setbacks, perseverance, resilience and hope; As well as an unclenching determination to always be kind and true to myself. As I celebrate my one year milestone of being cancer free, I’ve learned to live my life with purpose, passion and happiness! I have distanced myself from all the scars, the fears, the tears and the surgeries. I never knew how strong I was until being strong was the only choice I had, not just for me, but for my children, family and friends.
To say that Team Samaritan House made an impact on both me and my journey is definitely an understatement! Last year my teammates stepped-in and provided such amazing support. Yes, there are ‘Angels on Earth’, and within this group I have many “Angels” who touched my life in ways that I could never have imagined. There is something so special about this group, not only their dedication & drive for a cause greater than themselves, but their compassion for each other and strangers alike, all woven together with such faith and kindness. A team that I am proud to say I'm a part of again this year!
It's so easy to forget how precious it is to just be at HOME... your HOME, but not everyone has a HOME. Please consider donating to this very worthwhile cause and thank you in advance for sharing your good fortune with others.
May God bless you,
CAROLYN
