Paula Barclay - Riding to help those less fortunate

You know the tired, old greeting we all hear every day: "How are you doing?"
I have been thinking about that a lot lately. Like most of us, I answer with, "I'm doing great." And I am doing great -- most of us are. In fact, compared to most of the world we are all doing FANTASTIC, even with the small or large daily challenges we all face. There are so many people who are less fortunate than I am. That's why I am working this spring to raise money for Samaritan House -- a faith-based organization that is helping families in need with meals, shelter and employment opportunities as they get back on their feet. You can read more about Samaritan House on this website.
I'm a member of Team Samaritan House -- we are a bicycle team that is participating in several large Colorado bicycle events this year to raise awareness and work to help end homelessness. Over the past seven years Team Samaritan House has raised more than $500,000. I have signed up to ride for them in Ride the Rockies -- a tough, 7-day, 420-mile route that will include 25,000 feet of ascent. I feel so grateful that I have the time and ability to participate in this grueling, physical challenge. I want to make this more meaningful and help those who do not have the gifts that I do by challenging myself to help the homeless. I have committed to raising $1,500 this year as part of my personal Ride the Rockies challenge.
Would you consider making a tax-deductible contribution to Team Samaritan House? Team riders are paying all of their own event expenses, like entry fees, meals, jersey, etc, and I am making my own personal contribution. Your donation goes to help those in need, not pay for my vacation! :-) Thank you for taking the time to consider this request and thank you for being part of my life. You are just one more of the reasons my life is so rich and good and full of life and love.
Thank you and God bless,
Paula
